today we got a save the date/invitation for a wedding on august 8 of this year. i have never been invited to a destination wedding, the invitation says that shoes are optional, just reading those words took me a to warm beach-y place in my head. but then i remembered, i'm pregnant, my due date is july 13th, my graduation is august 8th. the reality is that, finances aside, we can't go to this wedding. i hate typing that. i love weddings, i love seeing my friends celebrate their love, i love beaches. i know that my friends will understand for any number of reasons still, i hate that we can't go this wedding.

though the happy couple has spent many nights wishing on stars that all of their dear friends will join them on the beach, the reality is that a destination wedding lends to missing people due to other life happenings. you are having a baby! thus, you are forgiven but not forgotten. there will be a place on the sand for you & will & little idonthaveanameyet...
