the ny times plum cake 365.189

my father-in-law loves this cake, luckily plums are coming into to season and i am able to make it again. this is what was leftover after three people had some for dessert and my father-in-law took what was "needed" for his lunch.
** this is a great cake make it, make it now! (you can substitute almost any "dry fruit" apples, pears, nectarines etc.. for the plums (i clearly used regular plums not the italian ones they suggest)
