I did it! One whole year in pictures, I only missed two days once due to sickness and the other time, I don't even remember why. I plan on continuing to post to internet, just in a new place. There will be a post here sharing the new address here soon I promise!

My last night of being 30 was spent going to a Keshet event. He wore his adorable Keshet onesie and was very well behaved. We of course forgot to take pictures of him being adorable at the party instead you get this, peeking out from behind the ergo carrier's straps.

Ruben took his first nap in his crib today. We were quite proud.

Jackson had an upset belly today and we took him to the vet, everything is fine. I guess times of crisis force you to realize just how much love you are capable of. I was going to take a walk today, but the emotional upheaval of a potentially sick animal made me exhausted, lucky for me I had a cute dog to snuggle with.

Tonight Will took me out for my birthday dinner. Our friends Katie and Sander babysat for us. We came home to a sleeping baby (the best kind) Katie, Sander you can baby-sit anytime you want!

Will had a work conference in NY today and tomorrow, so it was just me Ruben and Jackson. I could not get Jackson to join me for the picture, but its a tough call to say who missed him more.

Ruben had a hot date today. While he was off doing that, I went off to try to find a job. Because we all know I am clumsy, I opted to save the heels for later, and wore my favorite shoes while I traveled.

Today was a day like any other, except that seven years ago, the US endured a terrible terrorist attack. Ruben is far too young to understand it and I struggle with how much we would want to expose him to anyway. Nonetheless at the end of the day Will and I were tired.

sometimes when my son is asleep I just marvel at him. I never thought I would be one of those moms that just stares at her kid, but sometimes I can't help myself.

Being in the hospital sucked for many reasons, but it also meant that I lost out on spending the afternoon with Jonathan. Lucky for me he was able to be flexible with his schedule and came over today. Ruben was thrilled to meet him and is even more excited to have serious quality time in October! Also Ruben was quick to point out that his outfit is what all the cool kids are wearing.

I was on strict no food or drink orders with an IV providing all my sustenance for the whole of Sunday into Monday morning (I was very cranky about this). But by the time my favorite visitors came I was allowed clear liquids and was already in better spirits. Appendicitis was mostly ruled out. Will and Ruben spent most of the day with me watching bad television and sleeping. I was discharged at 6:38 pm with the diagnosis of inflamed lymph nodes due to a gastrointestinal virus. I was happy with the level of care I received, but unhappy that it took so long to discharge me. I waited from 1 pm to 6:38 pm to get discharged. Anyway I am so happy to be home and healthy!

At 1:45 this morning I woke up in terrible pain. It was bad enough that at 2:45 am I asked Will to take me to the ER. After some tests they decided to admit me with possible appendicitis. Understandably I didn't have my camera with me or the forethought to take pictures with my phone. Suffice it to say the ER is not really worth taking pictures of.

Ruben has a lot of clothing that proclaims his adore for his father and his participation in things his father may enjoy. Until recently this was the only thing that proclaimed his love for me. (on the hood below the octopus it says "I love Mommy"

The past six weeks I have been attending a class for new moms, getting to know other new (and amazing) mothers. These woman have been an inspiration to me and have helped me with transition into motherhood. Thank you ladies!

Tt was recommended that instead of letting Ruben choose his own lovey, we introduce one to him. This makes sense on several levels, we have to see it for the next two + years so we should like it, also it should be something that we can buy replacements for should it ever get lost. He seems to have taken to our choice rather well.

Since Will has gone back to work, we are all working on getting a good schedule about spending time with one another. While I know Will likes coming home to me, I think he is most excited about the time he gets to spend with Ruben while he is awake and not crying.

Becky came in from western MA to visit with Jesse, but really to see Ruben. In the course of the evening we accidentally said Uncle Becky. She didn't love it, but in the best possible way it really makes her part of the Z family so I think she should take it as a compliment.

today one of my b-school friends, Martha, came over. we talked about job hunting, families and the rest of stuff that we now have time to talk about now that school is over. The most important part is that she held Ruben (and she didn't break him!)
later on Will and Jackson were playing in the hall while I was nursing Ruben. I realized that there haven't been so many Jackson shots recently, Ruben has taken center stage. Our dog has amazing muscles that are really quite beautiful, hard to capture in a picture though.

today I went to costco with Jason. we took our kids, they were for the most well behaved. (Jason's son is 7 months old and Ruben is 7 weeks in this picture) while we were driving and talking realized that our kids will most likely be in the same class in school. its a good thing we all like each other, because we will be in one anothers lives for a long time

today was the first part of my graduation festivities. we celebrated our accomplishments and as i sat there and listened to my friends win awards i realized just how far we've come.

sometimes my son is not as cooperative as i would like. today my first day at home alone he nursed for basically 5 hours straight then he wouldn't fall asleep unless he was in my arms. this made everything much more difficult, lucky for me i have borrowed the Maya Wrap and i am (sort of) able to do things, like be on the phone, while he is awake.

will and i have had plans for our dining room for some time. they were recently realized. its now our "nice" room. it looks just like we want it to, nicely furnished, new windows, not cluttered and with an awesome paint job in a color we like. (not to worry, it still converts to a guest room for our friends who want to come visit)
