sometimes nothing calms a crying baby, other than perpetual motion, this can happen while using a sling like the maya wrap from yesterday's post. but what if mom needs to shower, use the restroom or otherwise not be wearing her child, swing to the rescue! thanks to our friends, the Fish's for giving us theirs.

sometimes my son is not as cooperative as i would like. today my first day at home alone he nursed for basically 5 hours straight then he wouldn't fall asleep unless he was in my arms. this made everything much more difficult, lucky for me i have borrowed the Maya Wrap and i am (sort of) able to do things, like be on the phone, while he is awake.

will and i have had plans for our dining room for some time. they were recently realized. its now our "nice" room. it looks just like we want it to, nicely furnished, new windows, not cluttered and with an awesome paint job in a color we like. (not to worry, it still converts to a guest room for our friends who want to come visit)

i know there isn't a picture of ruben, but consider this among the many ways we are making our house more him friendly.

i met a new friend today, my bestie introduced me to him over the interwebs, but today we met in person. entertainingly enough he also knows a friend of mine from school. so we all went out for brunch,what fun!

our sweet son is going through a growth spurt. this means that he wants to eat all the time! this is a rare shot of him asleep peaceful... i suspect that any minute now he will be wailing asking for more food.

For those of you who have visited with Ruben, you know that he spits-up. To compensate we place burp clothes near his mouth. However Goldie is special, because for the first time with his diaper on he managed to pee on someone. Lucky Goldie! Ruben felt really bad as did his parents.
Earlier in the day, I noticed that my son had a bit of a mohawk, I attribute this to Uncle Eli's bad influence.

we loaded Ruben into the Ergo Carrier and ventured downtown. Ruben's first T ride, his first trip to city hall (to get his birth certificate) and the first visit to daddy's office. Did I remember to take pictures of any these? No, so instead you get us walking home.

Ruben, like Jackson, is concerned about the environment and his impact on it. while he is concerned he isn't willing to be potty trained just yet. So despite the fact that we were using seventh generation diapers, Ruben insisted that we go one step further... so without further ado, the maiden voyage in gdiapers! (gDiapers consist of a washable, cotton outer "little g" pant and a plastic-free flushable diaper refill. They are made of breathable material just like sports clothing. )

ps. for my p'ton readers, the gdiaper is the correct shade of orange, no matter how your monitors may show it.
